When I consider the various hardships and difficulties I’ve encountered in my attempts to relocate, live, invest and contribute to the city of Baltimore, I incredibly find a near perfect microcosm of both the problems and the solution to the much publicized issue of vacant properties specifically, but also issues of urban revitalization and development in general.
At 29 S.Carlton Street, we actually find a property whose final disposition involves multiple parties with differing levels of interest. First we have the actual owner, one Mr. Lonnie Allen, who (if alive and in good health) seemingly has absolutely no interest or care. Second, we have my former employer, AP Corp; who I’m sure has a similar level of disinterest but due to their own actions, I intend to be the financier of my eventual purchase. Though tangentially connected; it is still nevertheless important to understand the role they and many other similarly malign companies and corporations play. AP Corp. is in many ways like the hypothetical “Nightmare Company A” from an employment law university course. It is my strong suspicion that with such a high turnover rate, their modus operandi is to deny all former employees unemployment insurance benefits by simply delaying the process by withholding necessary information until an applicant gives up. It became clear to me that it was vital for someone to finally hold them accountable to spare future employees such abuse through my appeal and subsequent civil suit. Third, we have “Property Management by Brandi Bradshaw” who represents the third and most predatory actor in this urban ecosystem. This is the parasitic opportunist that thrives in the chaos created by the other two. The evidence before this Court shows a business model that is not legitimate property management, but a fraudulent scheme. It preys upon the legal confusion surrounding properties left vacant by disinterested owners. It targets tenants made vulnerable by destabilizing outside forces. It extracts value from a distressed asset and a vulnerable person without any legal authority, contributing nothing to the property or the community, only to the cycle of decay.
Where I sought to invest, create, and build a community asset, the Plaintiff’s actions were purely extractive and destructive, culminating in the fraudulent seizure of my home, the burglary of my professional assets, and the cruel abandonment of a pet.
Therefore, this case presents the Court with more than just a request to vacate a void judgment. It presents a clear picture of the forces at war in our city’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. To allow this judgment to stand is to validate the actions of the parasitic opportunists who perpetuate this cycle. By vacating this judgment, this Court can defend the very type of grassroots, creative revitalization that offers our communities their only true hope for a better future.

ART & DESIGN
As an artist and designer, I bring together the precision of structured design with the fluidity
of organic expression. My work spans diverse fields of visual communication, developing a
practice that blends technical expertise with creative exploration to deliver impactful results.
As a graphic designer, I focus on crafting visually compelling designs that communicate
clear and engaging messages. From branding and advertising to interactive exhibits and
public art, I aim to create meaningful visual experiences that enhance both aesthetics and
functionality. Each project reflects a commitment to thoughtful design, where creativity and
purpose converge.
BIOGRAPHY
In my youth, I always possessed an insatiable need to draw and sketch. I soon became
immersed in digital art, initially captivated by video game design; I learned 3D modeling and
rendering using 3D Studio Max. Concurrently, the early days of the internet sparked my
interest in web coding, particularly HTML. As I explored these new digital tools, I began
creating my own graphics, dissatisfied with the premade options available online. This
period of experimentation ignited my passion for design.
I explore various facets of graphic design, from print to digital media, seeking new
boundaries of creativity. My work extends into typographic collages, or experimental
typography, a blend of text with found objects and diverse materials. These pieces create
layered, multidimensional compositions that challenge traditional design conventions.
A journey of continuous growth and discovery, my approach to design is one that leads to
work that is both conceptually profound and visually compelling. I remain committed to
pushing the boundaries of my craft, always seeking new ways to communicate and connect
through art and design.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is a deliberate exploration of the intersection between traditional craftsmanship and
digital innovation. As an artist, designer, and cultural observer, I navigate the complexities of
identity, time, and perception, employing a diverse range of media—acrylic paint, graphite,
paper, digital collage, and found objects—to weave narratives that transcend the ordinary.
Rooted in a deep appreciation for the geometric precision of mathematics and the fluidity of
scientific principles, my art often embodies a visual tension between chaos and order. This
interplay is not merely aesthetic but philosophical, reflecting the dualities I perceive in life:
the structured and the spontaneous, the tangible and the abstract, the old world and the
new.
Influenced by my cultural heritage and the transformative journey of migrating from Sudan
to the United States, my work serves as a dialogue between past and present, personal and
collective histories. I strive to break down the barriers between the seen and the unseen,
the known and the unknown. Found objects—imbued with history and meaning—are
integral to my typographic collages, grounding my work in the physical world while
simultaneously inviting viewers to consider the intangible aspects of existence. My
approach to experimental typography, inspired by early influences from my time at Virginia
Commonwealth University, further blurs the lines between text and image, structure and
freedom.

“My Book of the Void” is a remarkable fusion of art and philosophy, inspired by the writings of the renowned 17th-century Samurai, Miyamoto Musashi, specifically his work, “Go Rin No Sho” (The Book of Five Rings). It represents a captivating journey into the realms of artistic expression, thought-provoking concepts, and profound wisdom.
This, “My Book of the Void” stands as a visual interpretation and literary expansion of the ideas found within the original “Five Rings.” It seamlessly merges my art with philosophical insights, creating a unique and thought-provoking body of work.
The title encapsulates the core essence of my visual creations. The “void” in this context symbolizes a state of clear perception, free from confusion, and a calm spirit. This book explores and embodies this concept, both visually and through the written word.
In the pages of this book, readers are invited into a world where art transcends the boundaries of traditional mediums. The work consists of a wide range of elements, from digital composites of found objects to intricate graphite drawings and vivid acrylic paintings. This diverse blend of artistic expressions creates a dynamic and visually engaging experience.
Furthermore, It skillfully incorporates typographic elements, photographs, illustrations, and anything else the author has encountered on his artistic journey. This eclecticism adds depth and texture to the artistic narrative, making “My Book of the Void” a multi-sensory experience.
The philosophical dimensions are equally compelling. The writings, provide a thoughtful framework that invites readers to ponder the deeper meanings of art. It’s an exploration of the intersection between creativity, spirituality, and clarity of thought, encapsulating the essence of the “void”.
The author is an artist and a graphic designer, understanding of geometry and mathematical/scientific principles finds expression in his work. Geometric shapes, equations, and principles are skillfully woven into your art, adding an intellectual layer that resonates with the analytical mind.
